Prayer Is A Person Communicating With Their Friend.
Prayer is the key to our spiritual relationship with our Heavenly Father.
Jesus taught us to pray, "Our Father which art in heaven, …" (Matthew 6:9)
In This study we will be looking at the prayers that different people prayed throughout the Bible so that we can pattern our own prayers after their example.
Jesus prayed these words at the grave of Lazarus. "Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me." (John 11:4l)
Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer. (Acts 3:1)
About 120 people were present at the upper room prayer meeting on the Day of Pentecost. (Acts 1:15)
Jonah prayed unto the Lord his God out of the fish’s belly. (Jonah 2:1)
Daniel kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed and gave thanks before his God. (Daniel 6:10)
Hypocrites love to pray in the synagogues and in the streets that they may be seen of men. (Matthew 6:5)
Paul attended a prayer meeting outside the city of Philippi by the riverside. (Acts 16:12-13)
Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God in the Philippian jail. (Luke 9:28)
Manoah prayed and asked about guidance for Samson’s life when he is born. (Judges 13:8)
Manasseh prayed to be returned to Jerusalem and his kingdom. (2 Chronicles 33:11-13)
Elijah prayed that it might not rain, and it rained not for 3 1/2 years. (James 5:17)
Asa had an army of 580 thousand and Zerah the Ethiopian had an army of a thousand thousand. Asa prayed for a victory, which God granted. (2 Chronicles 14:8-11)
Samson was sore athirst and prayed for a drink. God gave him water from the jawbone of an animal. (Judges 15:16-19)

What will we receive from God when we delight ourselves in the Lord?
"The desires of thine heart." Psalms 37:4,
How do we know God will hear us?
"This is the confidence that we have in him, if we ask anything according to his will, He hears us. " 1 John 5:14.
Nehemiah 1:5, I beseech thee, O Lord God of Heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandment."
Isaiah 42:8. "I am the Lord: that is my name and my glory will I not give another."
We should approach God How?
"Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help in the time of trouble. Hebrews 4:16,
Since we do not know how to pray effectively on our own, what does the Holy Spirit do for us in prayer
"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities; for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered." Romans 8:26,
Whose purpose is at the focal point of the Holy Spirit’s intercession?
"And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit. Because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. Romans 8:2,
Why do spiritual things seem foolish to the unsaved?
"But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are Spiritually discerned." 1 Corinthians 2:14,
Upon what physical area of Jesus’ body do the words "King of Kings and Lord of Lords" appear?
"And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh, a name written, King of Kings and Lord of Lords." Revelation 19:16,
What time of the day did the Psalmist David say he would pray?
"My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord: in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up." Psalm 5:3,
What did Daniel do when the king outlawed prayer to the true God?

Mary’s first words after Elizabeth confirmed the birth of Jesus to her.
"And Mary said "My soul doth magnify the Lord." Luke 1:46,
Where did Peter and John go after they were threatened by the priest and elders for healing the man at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful?
" And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them. Acts 3:2, Acts 4:23,
When Peter and John went unto their own company and reported all that the chief priest and elders had said unto them concerning the healing of the lame man at the gate of the Temple called Beautiful what did they do?
"And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness." Acts 4:31,
Stephen was stoned he did what and said what?

Mark 9:29, And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
